The Process


The process for custom designing your invitations is quite simple and casual.  There are three ways to begin:

  1. Send an email to appointments@kalijoworks.com.

  2. Call 914.924.3758 to discuss your ideas.

  3. Schedule an appointment by email or phone if you are within driving distance of the Lower Dutchess County area of New York.

Whether our communication is by phone or email only, the following steps are the same:

  1. INITIAL MEETING - FREE.  This can be done by phone, email or appointment.  Basically, we will have a very casual conversation regarding the general idea of what you want your invitations to look like.  If all you need is a quote for specific items, a quote will be sent to you via email at no charge.  If you need more guidance and would prefer that 1 to 3 detailed design ideas be proposed to you, then we would need to move on to the Design Phase.

  2. DESIGN PHASE - There is no design fee unless you just need an electronic file designed for you. However, a non-refundable payment of $50 is required if you would like to see a sample of the finished product.  This payment covers the cost of the materials for producing 1 to 3 samples of your design options.  Kindly let us know if you would like custom samples created before you approve any projects.

  3. DEPOSIT - At least 50% of the original invoice is needed before all the materials are ordered. Depending on availability, Envelopments® products take up to 10 business days to get to us.  This is the perfect time to design the layouts of each printed piece.

  4. LAYOUT PHASE - While we wait for the materials to come in, the layout phase begins.  Ideally, I like to work out the layouts before the materials come in.  However, how quickly we get them finalized depends on how quickly we respond to each other's emails or phone calls. 

  5. PROOFS PHASE - A gagillion proofs will be sent during this time.  We want them to be perfect after all.

  6. FINAL APPROVAL - Once all the FINAL proofs are completed, they will be attached to ONE email for FINAL APPROVAL. 

  7. PRODUCTION - When I get that ONE "OK to print" in that ONE email, then the fun really begins.  I will start printing and/or assembling your project. 

  8. FINAL PAYMENT - After the project is completed, I'll send you a PayPal payment request for the remaining balance PLUS the cost of delivery (which is determined after the finished job is packed and weighed).

  9. DELIVERY - The invitations either go out in the mail or you can pick them up if you are within driving distance of Wappingers Falls, NY.
