The Process
The process for custom designing your invitations is quite simple and casual. There are three ways to begin:
- Send an email to appointments@kalijoworks.com.
- Call 914.924.3758 to discuss your ideas.
- Schedule an appointment by email or phone if you are within driving distance of the Lower Dutchess County area of New York.
Whether our communication is by phone or email only, the following steps are the same:
- INITIAL MEETING - FREE. This can be done by phone, email or appointment. Basically, we will have a very casual conversation regarding the general idea of what you want your invitations to look like. If all you need is a quote for specific items, a quote will be sent to you at no charge. If you need more guidance and would prefer that 1 to 3 detailed design ideas be proposed to you, then we would need to move on to the Design Phase.
- DESIGN PHASE - A payment of $50 is required. This payment covers the time and effort made in creating the design illustrations and corresponding quotes, any communication afterwards and ONE sample of the final design. Just click on the "Design Phase" medallion at the top of this page to start this phase or to simply order a finished sample. (If you decide to go forward with the project, then $25 of this amount will be credited towards the final invoice.)
- DEPOSIT - At least 50% of the original invoice is needed before the materials are ordered. Depending on availability, Envelopments® products take up to 10 business days to get to me. This is the perfect time to design the layouts of each printed piece.
- LAYOUT PHASE - While we wait for the materials to come in, the layout phase begins. Ideally, I like to work out the layouts before the materials get to me. However, how quickly we get them finalized depends on how quickly we respond to each other's emails or phone calls.
- PROOFS PHASE - A gagillion proofs will be sent during this time. We want them to be perfect after all.
- FINAL APPROVAL - Once all the FINAL proofs are completed, they will be attached to ONE email for FINAL APPROVAL.
- PRODUCTION - When I get that ONE "OK to print" in that ONE email, then the fun begins for me. I will start printing and/or assembly.
- FINAL PAYMENT - After the project is completed, I'll send you a PayPal payment request for the remaining balance PLUS the cost of delivery (which is determined after the finished job is packed and weighed).
- DELIVERY - The invitations go out in the mail. Yippee!!!!
